Lesson Services
The Contract for Private Lessons with Jotero Music Company sets forth the terms and conditions of your enrollment in instructional services from Jotero Music Company. (“Jotero Music”).
Registration Fee
There is a non-refundable registration fee of $25 due upon enrollment.
Lesson Fee
Lessons are billed monthly. Monthly lesson fees are due by the first lesson of each month, for that month’s lessons. Lesson fees do not include curriculum and material costs.
Lesson fees are based on four lessons per month. When there is a 5th weekly lesson in the month, an additional lesson will be charged separately to your account on a prorated basis ($35 for 30 minutes, $45 for 45 minutes, $55 for 60 minutes).
Family Discount
For additional family members, we offer a 25% discount on the registration fee and monthly lesson fee. The family member discount is only offered to the subsequent family member that is registered and has accepted the private lesson contract.
Example:
1st student pays 100% of the registration fee and monthly lesson fee.
2nd student qualifies and receives the family discount of 25% off of their registration fee and monthly lesson fee.
For the family discount to stay active the primary student and subsequent student must be actively taking lessons. If at any time the primary student stops taking lessons, the discount will no longer be available to the additional family member and the rate will change to the full monthly lesson fee.
Promotional Pricing/Offers
Throughout the year, we will offer limited-time promotional pricing on our services. During these offerings, the promotional pricing can not be stacked on any current discounts (i.e family discount).
During the promotional offer period, promotional pricing will be offered in place of the regular discount.
Late Fee
There will be a late fee of $10 for payments that are not made in full by the first lesson of each month.
Refund Policy
Jotero Music does not provide a lesson fee refund under any circumstances unless a student’s contract is terminated by Jotero Music.
Jotero Music reserves the right to terminate any student’s contract, in which case prorated lesson fees will be refunded.
Attendance
Students are expected to arrive a few minutes prior to their scheduled lesson so that lessons can begin at the designated lesson time. Your lesson time will not be extended because you are late, and you will still be charged the full amount for that lesson. If the instructor is running late for any reason, we will notify you as soon as possible and make up the full lesson time for you.
Cancellation & Reschedule Policy
To cancel or reschedule a lesson at no cost, you must provide at least 24 hours’ notice. We will reschedule your lesson subject to instructor availability. If you do not show up for a lesson or if you do not provide adequate notice, you will be charged for the missed lesson and no make-up lesson will be scheduled. Emergencies are handled on a case-by-case basis.
Jotero Music will also reschedule lessons for the following reasons:
- Your instructor is unexpectedly unavailable
- Studio closure due to inclement weather
- Studio closure for New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Summer break from July 1st to Aug 1st, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas break from Dec. 20th to Jan 6th.
Cancellation of Enrollment
To cancel your enrollment, and terminate your lessons, you must provide written notice to Jotero Music via email at jon@joteromusic.com. A 1-month notice is required if a student intends to stop lessons. The student’s last month of lessons is to be paid for, regardless if the student attends or not. This includes students who run into conflicts mid-year and are unable to fit into another available lesson slot.
Jotero Music reserves the right to cancel your enrollment and fill your lesson slot if
- You do not make timely payments
- You fail to show up without notice for three consecutive lessons
- Your conduct is rude, improper, or harmful.
Termination is effective on the date of the notice. In the event of Jotero Music Company canceling your enrollment, all unused lesson fees will be refunded.
Policies for Minors
Communications between Jotero Music staff and minor students should only be on-site, at the studio, and directly related to instruction. All other communication will be between the parent/guardian of any minor student and Jotero Music staff, through Jotero Music-operated phones and email addresses connected to Jotero Music Company.
